Maybe it’s the springtime air. I just listened to a mix a friend made for me. I’m head over heels in crush with this song “My little brother just discovered rock and roll” by Art Brut. I’m a sucker for an English accent, a kind of barky or yappy vocal approach, and songs about music. And the it’s got a nice dissonant noisey guitar thing going on (I would have called it an “angular” sound when I was younger and reading music mags a lot). Great bassline as well. Makes one want to bob a bit at knees and neck, with the odd awkward twitch in between (the vestiges of dance-drive left over from years of music that isn’t super dance conducive in settings that are dance unfriendly).
