Crojas in his contribution to the partisan party at LS quotes Agamben:

the state of exception is neither external nor internal to the juridical order, and the problem of defining it concerns precisely a threshold, or a zone of indifference, where inside and outside do not exclude each other but rather blur with one another. The suspension of the norm does not mean its abolition, and the zone of anomie that is establishes is not (or at least claims not to be) unrelated to the juridical order

I’ve got this summer cold and it sucks. Worse in the evenings. I get all cough-y from the night air. Tzuchien said “so you’re like an old person.” And when I lay down I’m congested - which is frustrating because laying down while sick is a special joy - and it drains all night grosslike so I wake up with scratchy throat and croaking laryngitis (sp?) voice. Ugh. I had about 1800% of my RDA of vitamin C today, maybe that will help. (more…)

Angela wrote a while ago about the Precarias a la Deriva’ move to found the Agencia Todas a Cien as part of their continued involvement in the Eskalera Karakola. The Precarias have for the time being hung up their militant researcher helmets (as far as the derivas go, that is, there’s a level of militant research built into the activities planned for the Agencia, depending on how expansively one defines militant research). In any case, the Precarias now have a superhero in their networks: aZien. You can view videos in Spanish about it here.

I’ve been revising some stuff I wrote before, and had a few thoughts. I’ve argued before that, at least in the sense that Hardt and Negri use the term, biopolitics is not new. This is how I understand some of Agamben’s remarks on biopolitics too. (more…)

I don’t know. I suspect it’s a theoretical attempt to derive an allegedly new politics from an allegedly new stage, without having to critically engage with the wreckage and mistakes of prior organizational thought w/in Marxism. I may be wrong, I’m in an uncharitable mood.
