What in the hell …

I post this just to remind myself to go back and look at this. I plan to look up what my university’s policies are on merit pay for faculty and see if I can find anything on this in the university industry generally. The university introduced these policies for university librarians recently, describing merit pay as a “compensation system in which base-pay increases are individual instead of across the board.” That is, it’s an anti-collective and anti-union measure.
