Mike!
Great to hear from you! I'm gonna be in Chicago end of August for IWW general assembly, I plan to come down early, I'd love to see you.
One minor correction: the proper locution is not 'fucking Naked Raygun' but rather 'Naked FUCKING RAYGUN!!!!' as Patty from Dilinger Four kept saying again and again between songs (prefaced with "let me remind you") when they played up here recently - along with The Methadones and Shot Baker. Fabulous. Jeff B was looking good, made me want to buy a gold chain. They played two nites. Both shows Dan "Vapid" Schaffer (he sings for the Methadones if you don't know them) did a rendition of the Sludgeworth song "Someday" with Raygun playing the music. So, so good. Much more important that Karl what's his name or the Plat-whatsit. Naked FUCKING Raygun.

take care,
Nate

Dude, Naked Raygun, duh! "Peacemaker", off of the amazing LP "All Rise" (Homestead, 1985).

Out of all your recent posts, on the Platform and on Marx's labor theory of value, why do I only post a comment about fucking Naked Raygun? (Frankly, the answer to that rhetorical question has everything to do with the dreaded phrase "two children under two;" we're in a special category now...)

You know, I saw one of their last concerts (prior to some sort of reunion nonsense I believe they engaged in last year) in Milwaukee when I was a senior in high school (1991), passing up the same-time-different-place opportunity to see the then up-and-coming (and also Chicago-based) Smashing Pumpkins. In retrospect, I clearly made the right choice.

Sadly (or is it happily) I have no idea what "micro-event" in your life led to you think about this.

You ever see the Weavers?
